For nearly a year, Belk’s Riverchase Galleria store has been undergoing a transformation.
The conversion of the 30 year-old location into one of the Charlotte-based chain’s flagship stores has been executed while the day-to-day operations continued during the nine-month construction process.
An investment of over $9 million has produced a 215,000-square-foot multi-level Belk that is designed to help enhance the customer experience.
We caught up with Belk general manager Ken Crow recently and talked about this conversion process and the store’s Oct. 15 grand opening.
What will be the biggest difference in the customer experience?
The biggest thing you’ll see when you walk in is the interaction. The customer has a little bit more interaction with the merchandise, with the cosmetic lines. They can touch more, they can feel more, they can see basically put together for them across the store.
